Welcome!
Many people suffer from problems with their mental and social health. Approximately 1.1 million people in Sweden experience mental distress which requires professional help. The Swedish National Association for Social and Mental Health (RSMH) is an organization for people who experience mental- and social health problems. Among our members are also relatives and others with an interest in our work. Peer-support and advocacy-work are our core strategy. Peer-support is about strengthening people's self-confidence by stopping isolation and turn passivity into activity. Our 10.000 members are organised in 140 user-run clubs all over the country. The goal of our advocacy work is to affect politicians, care institutions and authorities in order to give people more influence and power over their lives. The task of the RSMH is to improve the quality of care and support to people with mental health problems. The RSMH works for a change of attitude and fights prejudice about mental health. The RSMH is the voice of people with experience of mental and social health problems! |
